Some background to FOAM Inc.

Fleurieu Outdoor Adventure Management Inc first registered for incorporation back in 2009 with the goal of running a monthly 5k community running event from Kent Reserve in Encounter Bay. A small committee ran these events for a few years with significant input from Graham Mowatt, Hugh Moore, Jeremy Bell and Brad Butler.
Over time the committee changed and then the amazing enthusiasm and energy of Simon Porteous supported by his family grabbed hold of Foam and for several years ran amazing events like Goolwa Huff’n Puff, Conquer the Cliffs, Fleurieu Beach run, Victor Harbor Half marathon and of course the Granite Island run. But then, like a lot of things, covid forced a hiatus in events.
Now a new committee is in place and FOAM running events are returning to the Fleurieu. The first of these new events will be the Ratalang race in February 2025.
Ratalang promises to be an test of endurance and mental strength run overnight and hopefully making use of our beautiful mild summer nights on the Fleurieu coast. However, keep your eye out, there are other early seeds of ideas for unique FOAM running events.
